Back, but…
I recently became a statistic… one of the new filers for unemployment benefits. The good news, is that it is almost a blessing, was not unexpected, and allows me to pursue something more suitable and, more importantly, more enjoyable.
The bad news is I will almost certainly be moving. I love north Florida, but my particular skills and experience in the Aerospace world are not at all in demand here… so I’ll likely be a DC area blogger in the near future.
So, BHO got a Nobel for potential… I got a pink slip… along with about 10% of the group I was with… 100% of the team I was a part of.
Uncertain about the long-term prospects, and pessimistic about the near-term prospects of our economy and the world’s economy have led my previous employer to make some hard decisions, some they will come to regret, but shrinking the size of the workforce is just a necessary step with the uncertainty of the political winds and the increasing influence of government in private enterprise. Elections have consequences and we are beginning to feel the consequences of electing a Marxist leaning President and giving a radical Congress large majorities in both houses. I hope the damage they are doing is fixable. I truly believe that Charles Krauthammer is right,
I’m confident that America will not choose decline… but soon there might be a tipping point, and our President seems actually to be trying to get us there. At least there are encouraging signs that people are waking up, people are beginning to see that the fundamental changes BHO promised are not good for America. Let’s hope that trend accelerates.
